After months of hard work put in by the new Shenandoah Lodge website team, the lodge website is finally here. Finally, a calendar, sign up, and any information you may need is all in one place. Currently, the website is still fairly basic, but with many people on the team, the development will be ongoing and consistent. If you have any ideas or are interested in helping, talk to our Lodge Chief or Lodge Secretary.
Winter Banquet is an annual celebration of the arrowmen in Shenandoah Lodge 258. This scout-formal event gives us the opportunity to recognize arrowmen with a variety of recognitions geared towards giving thanks to those that give great service to the lodge and the council throughout the year. You do not want to miss this year’s Winter Banquet which will be taking place at American Legion Post 74 in Keswick, Virginia which is sure to be full of fellowship, good food, and recognition for the arrowmen in Shenandoah Lodge.
This years fall fellowship was a great success. Friday night we opened with a Pre Ordeal ceremony to welcome the 24 candidates that showed up to complete their Ordeal. After that, we had a wonderful Cracker Barrel and a debrief for the Pre Ordeal ceremony to end the night. The following morning we started on our hours of cheerful service, many projects were completed, from the Ordeal candidates and volunteers patching and organizing canvas tents used during the summer season, to help with trail work, to fixing whole rows of benches at the OA Ceremonies ring and the deconstruction of the old platform by the Ceremonies ring. Following our Cheerful service, we had a Regalia, and Regalia crafting, presentation led by Ceremonies advisor Adam Sowers with help from Donation Linebrink. Next was the National webinar, Thrive, sat in on by some very driven Arrowmen and Lodge Chief Eli Hattersley. Followed by an open ceremonies practice at the OA ring. We were then lucky enough to welcome all 24 Candidates into our Brotherhood. Later that evening we met in the Dining Hall for our monthly LEC, where we discussed upcoming events for the Lodge and closed by handing out the 75th year anniversary Silver boarder Lodge flap (available only at this event) and ended the evening with a bonfire, cocoa, and fellowship.

This past month, on November 2nd, 40 brothers from Shenandoah lodge came together at Hillandale Park for the lodge’s annual One Day of Service! Arrowmen restored bike trails and enjoyed fellowship with members from all corners of the council. The trails and drainage run-off were completed before lunch and the bike club was very appreciative of our efforts. This was the second One Day of Service completed at the Hillandale Park bike trails, with the previous being creation and clearing of trails.
